FAQ's

What is the cost and when is payment due?

The standard cost for the program is currently set at $38 per child per day.

For days running an incursion, cost is $44 per day per child.

A discount is available for multiple children on a single booking. The multi-child discount is $5.00 for each additional child.

Payment is due 5 days prior to the date attending and can be done on enrolment via the online booking portal either by credit card. Visit the online Holiday program booking portal to enrol and pay.

Child Care Benefit/Rebates

Child care benefit/rebates will not be offered during the September school holidays however the costs of the program has been subsidised by Glen Eira Leisure and kept to a minimum to allow access to all families.

 

Staff, qualifications and ratios

All Caulfield Recreation Holiday programs and activities are conducted by qualified educators who hold qualifications in early childhood and Primary education. All staff hold current working with children and first aid certificates (asthma/anaphylaxis) and receive ongoing training as a requirement of employment with Glen Eira Leisure.

State legislation and our Child Protection Policy states that all staff working with children hold current criminal history checks and a valid Working with Children Certificate.
Ratios are as per regulatory requirements set at one (1) staff: 15 children.

 

Allergies, Anaphylaxis and Asthma

Should your child have any food allergies, please ensure you provide this information upon enrolment and inform staff when attending the program.

If your child has anaphylaxis or asthma, a risk management plan will need to be completed and signed prior to attendance. Action plans will need to be provided that are current, in colour and contain a recent photograph of the child. Please contact the childcare team Leader on childcare@geleisure.com.au for further information.

Children are required to bring their medication each day they attend. If this is not provided, we cannot care for your child.

 

Parents are reminded to be mindful when packing lunches and snacks ensuring known allergens are not included. There are occasions when children attending the program will have allergies or anaphylaxis.

Products containing NUTS, EGGS, SHELLFISH, SEEDS, KIWIFRUIT & DAIRY are to be avoided to ensure the safety of the children in our care.

 

What time do I drop off?

The daily program operates from 8:00am to 6:00pm each day

Arrive between 8.00am - 9.30am
Pickup between 4.00pm - 6.00pm

Please note that any child/ren picked up after 6pm will be charged at a rate of $1 per minute overtime per child.

 

What is provided?

As part of the holiday program a light breakfast will be provided to children from 8:00 -9:30am and afternoon tea consisting of fresh seasonal fruit and crackers.

If your child has any allergies, please ensure you provide details on your child’s enrolment and complete any Risk Assessments provided by Glen Eira Leisure prior to attendance.

Please also inform holiday program staff upon arrival each day.

 

What do I bring?

  • In keeping with our healthy eating policy we encourage parents to pack a healthy lunch each day which should include fruits and healthy snacks. Please ensure you pack sufficient food as the children will be participating in outdoor activities each day. Although cooking experiences will be included in the program, children who do not wish to eat what they’ve cooked may prefer to have their own lunch available.
  • Sunsmart clothing. A named hat and sunscreen are compulsory for all outdoor activities. Coats if weather is cold/wet
  • A named water bottle filled with water, no juices, soft drinks allowed.

 

Where do I go?

The holiday program will be conducted out of D.C. Bricker Pavilion accessed from Beech Street, Caulfield South.  

It is a legal requirement that all children attending are signed in an out by a parent or nominated guardian each day on the register provided.

 

Incursions/ Excursions

Excursions are not scheduled for the September School holidays however suitable incursions have been organised for the children.

On days when incursions have not been set, activities will be provided that includes cooking, take home crafts and experiences that the children will enjoy.

Children with Additional Needs

If your child has any additional needs please ensure details are provided via the online registration form. If necessary, extra staff will be provided to assist and settle your child for the day.

Parents may wish to discuss further with the Occasional care team leader.
